We are very proud of our stylists who work with us at Garbo's, and below, you will find a snippet of background about each of them:

Selina:
Selina, the Salon Director, has been hairdressing for over 20 years. If you like a quick, no-nonsense service combined with accurate cutting and colouring then Selina is the stylist for you.  Her technical expertise at cutting and strong blowdrying technique ensures your hair looks fantastic. 

 Jona:
Jona, our Salon Manager, joined Garbo's in 2008 having previously worked in salons in Tunbridge Wells, Heathfield and South Africa.  Jona is passionate about creative and avant-garde cutting & colouring.  Jona is a qualified hair and scalp specialist.  Jona has taken part in hairdressing competitions and worked as part of an art team creating new and innovative styles.  Jona is also in charge of all training in-salon and is a qualified A1 Assessor.  Jona co-ordinates and supervises our in salon training sessions.  Jona was nominated for In-Salon Trainer of the Year 2009 by The Hair Academy.

Niki:
Niki joined Garbo's in 2004 and is Garbo's Assistant Manager.  Niki has impressed clients with her creative talents, both in cutting and colouring and in excellent blow drying.  Nikki is also a master with GHD straighteners creating fantastic curls, twists or waves that give the 'wow' factor to hair up or wedding hair.  Nicki is a fully qualified Racoon Hair Extension technician and is also fully trained in chemical hair straightening. Niki is currently studying for her NVQ 3 in hairdressing and was nominated for Apprentice of the Year by The Hair Academy.

Donna:
Donna has been hairdressing for over 10 years and working for Garbo's for over 8 of them.  Donna has completed many industry recognized qualifications including Level 3 NVQ in Hairdressing and has an A1 Assessors certificate and as part of our partnership with TIGI attends the Toni & Guy Training Academy in London.  Donna is a fully qualified Racoon Hair Extension technician.  Donna enjoys all aspects of hairdressing but loves to work on fashion cuts and colour and is the stylist to see if you require hair up or wedding hair.  In 2006 Donna attended the Club Matrix Salon Conference in Cyprus. Donna works on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday .

Lisa:
Lisa joined Garbo's as a trainee haridresser in 1998 and qualified as a Stylist with a NVQ Level 2 in hairdressing in early 2001.  Lisa completed her NVQ Level 3 in hairdressing and uses her creative talent to excellent use on the salon floor. Lisa is a fully qualified Racoon Extension technician.  Lisa now works part-time on Saturday from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm

Chris:
Chris has been hairdressing since the time of the Pharaohs. Chris is the early bird and appointments can be made with Chris from 7.30 am Thursday to Saturday.

Vicki:
Vicki, our receptionist has a background in hairdressing and the retail industry and is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the salon. Please ring Vicki to arrange your appointment.   Vicki is currently nearing the completion of her NVQ 2 in hairdressing through our own in-house training programme and is available for appointments.

Alexandra and Rosie:
Alexandra and Rosie recently joined our team as aTrainee Hairdressers.  They are at the beginning of her Apprenticeship and will join our in-house training programme which is run in conjunction with the Government approved training provider, thehairacademy, www.hairacademy.co.uk.

Garbo’s also offers day-release places to young people from Beacon Community College and Uplands Community College as part of their vocational training
